Robin Lawrence

I have been a professional gardener for over a 30 years. My career started with an apprenticeship in the Central London Royal Parks. This provided training working with the requirements of any given season, maintaining ornate formal gardens and wilder landscapes, propagating, planting, pruning and troubleshooting problems. I had opportunity to work in locations such as St James’ Park, 10 Downing Street and what was then the Royal Parks Nursery in Hyde Park. cI have been a professional gardener for over a 30 years. I had opportunity to work in locations such as St James’ Park, 10 Downing Street and what was then the Royal Parks Nursery in Hyde Park.

My love for gardening started much earlier with my Grandad in his garden, I was captivated by the magic of natures cycles. He taught me about the cycle of composting and how unwanted garden matter can be turned into rich soil that nurtures life. Those moments shaped my passion for gardening and supporting the integrity of the biodiversity that we all depend upon.

After this solid horticultural grounding I also worked with a very experienced Joiner making bespoke furniture, bowed sash windows and their accompanying shutters and shutter boxes. This helped to hone my skills in woodwork and fine finishing now used in decking, fencing, trellising, pergolas, and custom-made woodwork projects.

Driven by a desire to be true to my own principles and make a positive difference I started Garden Robin on my own in 2006. Drawing from my formative years and professional journey I combine organic practices with my knowledge of plant husbandry.

Meeting Kamila, who shares the same ethical values, has been wonderful. Since 2014, we have been working together in a life and business partnership, bringing our combined expertise and passion to every project.

Together, we are committed to creating gardens that thrive for generations to come.

Kamila Jenczek

With 10 years of experience in horticulture and design, I bring a unique blend of artistic vision and practical knowledge to every project.

My love for plants and nature began early, growing up in rural Poland surrounded by forests and lakes. Helping my parents and my grandparents in their allotments, foraging in the forest and enjoying what each season would bring, this instilled a deep connection and understanding of nature within me.

My journey as a professional Gardner started in 2014 when I joined Garden Robin. After several years working in an office as personal advisor I was feeling exhausted and missing being closed to nature. Shortly after having our baby girl Kaia, I went back to work, this time with Robin. Through his passion, knowledge and care I have learned a lot about horticulture, feeling inspired to learn more I have never looked back.

My background in fashion and art combined with plant knowledge and garden design gives me a keen eye for colour and proportion. I have vision and can see the potential within any given space.

My hunger for creativity and beauty drives me to work within world of landscape understanding how healing and soothing a garden can be.

My goal is to empower people with the knowledge and skills to cultivate their own plants and their own food organically, demystifying the art of growing and gardening. With just a little knowledge and the right guidance, anyone can transform their outdoor space into sanctuary of their own.
