Step One - 1:1 Consultation

Our Garden Design service is tailored to create unique, personalised outdoor spaces that reflect your individual tastes and lifestyle. We believe that your garden should be an extension of your home, full of character and personality. We assist with projects whatever their size, from a small garden bed to an entire garden.

Step Two - Mood board and Measuring

We create a mood board that is a visual expression of the ideas that we have discussed. This will include photos of other gardens, specific plants, structures and a colour pallet to help narrow down the ideas and refine the direction of the overall design. We will measure your outdoor space or the particular area set for development. For larger spaces we would suggest obtaining accurate measurements from any preexisting architectural plans.

Step Three - Personalised Design

Having clarified and understood your ideas and aspirations we then interpret and match these to the specific circumstances of your garden, creating a master plan. This aspect of the design process may still be a refinement process, so please remember that some trial and error & back and forth communication may apply.

Step Four -Implementation

We source the materials and complete the project ourselves or we supply you with the design for your own implementation.

Robin Lawrence

I have been a professional gardener for over a 30 years. My career started with an apprenticeship in the Central London Royal Parks. This provided training working with the requirements of any given season, maintaining ornate formal gardens and wilder landscapes, propagating, planting, pruning and troubleshooting problems. I had opportunity to work in locations such as St James’ Park, 10 Downing Street and what was then the Royal Parks Nursery in Hyde Park. cI have been a professional gardener for over a 30 years. My career started with an apprenticeship in the Central London Royal Parks. This provided training working with the requirements of any given season, maintaining ornate formal gardens and wilder landscapes, propagating, planting, pruning and troubleshooting problems. My love for gardening started much earlier with my Grandad in his garden, I was captivated by the magic of natures cycles. He taught me about the cycle of composting and how unwanted garden matter can be turned into rich soil that nurtures life. Those moments shaped my passion for gardening and supporting the integrity of the biodiversity that we all depend upon.

After this solid horticultural grounding I also worked with a very experienced Joiner making bespoke furniture, bowed sash windows and their accompanying shutters and shutter boxes. This helped to hone my skills in woodwork and fine finishing now used in decking, fencing, trellising, pergolas, and custom-made woodwork projects.

Driven by a desire to be true to my own principles and make a positive difference I started Garden Robin on my own in 2006. Drawing from my formative years and professional journey I combine organic practices with my knowledge of plant husbandry.

Meeting Kamila, who shares the same ethical values, has been wonderful. Since 2014, we have been working together in a life and business partnership, bringing our combined expertise and passion to every project.

Together, we are committed to creating gardens that thrive for generations to come.
